As you walk through Old Naples, your guide will tailor the experience to your interests. You will step inside beautiful—and sometimes hidden—churches (Naples has more churches than you might expect, even rivaling Rome!) and admire remarkable examples of Gothic and Baroque architecture, often standing side by side with the homes of everyday locals.
Your private excursion will take you through the famous Spaccanapoli, the narrow street that cuts straight through the historic center. Here you’ll encounter the true soul of the city: lively streets, local students, artisan workshops, and some of Naples’ best pizzerias and pastry shops.
A stop in the San Gregorio Armeno area is a must, famous for its extraordinary handcrafted Nativity scene figures—a tradition that comes alive especially during the Christmas season.
If you wish, you can also visit the Naples Cathedral, renowned for its lavish Baroque decoration. Inside, you’ll find the Chapel of San Gennaro, dedicated to the city’s patron saint, famous worldwide for the miraculous liquefaction of his blood, which occurs twice a year.
Those interested in visiting the Sansevero Chapel (home to the famous Veiled Christ) should let us know in advance so we can secure a reservation. The chapel is closed on Tuesdays.
At the end of the tour, you may choose to stay in town on your own for a traditional Neapolitan pizza lunch or return to the starting point with your guide.
Tour Reviews
We were amazed at how knowledgeable and interesting Fabrizio was as we toured Naples by foot and then drove to Pompei for a private tour of the ruins. We have had many tour guides in the past that just talk endlessly about facts and figures that go in one ear and out the other – but Fabrizio made the history interesting and fun. He caught on very quickly at times that we wouldn’t that interested in certain activities/museums so he took us to places more of interest to our group of 6. Wish I could give this company a 10+.
Giuseppe met us at our cruise ship and took us on a fantastic walking tour of Napoli. Since we had been to Napoli before, he showed us some hidden gems we had not yet discovered such as the veiled Christ sculpture in San Severo, the eye-opening Fontanella Cimitero, etc. We also had a wonderful lunch along the Lungo Mare with beautiful views and delicious local food. We travel often and I highly recommend Giuseppe. He is knowledgeable, engaging, and a delight!!
