Itinerary

You will be greeted by your driver at your requested location in Naples or Sorrento.
The guided visit is divided into two main sections: the Royal Apartments and the Royal Gardens.

The journey from Naples to Caserta takes approximately 25 minutes along the straight road commissioned by King Charles to connect Naples to the Palace’s main entrance. The king’s vision of a perfectly straight avenue continues through the palace and extends for two more miles into the garden, ending at the magnificent main cascade.

The Royal Apartments occupy the upper Noble Floor designed by Vanvitelli for the royal family.

Highlights include:

·       Palatine Chapel, reminiscent of Versailles
·       Anterooms of the Halberdiers, Bodyguards, and Alexander
·       Old Apartments (Apartment of the Settecento), the only apartments ever inhabited by the Bourbons, featuring Rococo decorations, luxurious San Leucio silk wallpapers, and Venetian Murano glass chandeliers
·       New Apartments (Apartment of the Ottocento), completed in the 19th century

After exploring the palace interiors, relax with a stroll through the Royal Park. Options to explore the park include:

·       Public shuttle bus to the main cascade
·       Electric-assisted bicycles (available on site) for more photo stops and exploration

The gardens feature spectacular fountains, mythological sculptures, and water displays that bring the life of the Royal Court to vivid life. The route ends at the Waterfall of Diana and Actaeon.

Nearby, discover the English Garden, commissioned by Queen Maria Carolina of Hapsburg and designed by Vanvitelli with botanist Andrew Graefer. Wander along its grasslands, waterways, ponds, and hidden temples, where natural and artificial beauty blend in a romantic, dreamlike setting.
