Practical Info

This private walking Tour is available from the Cruise Terminal as a Shore Excursion, or from your hotel centrally located in Naples or from the railway station if you come from Rome or Sorrento by train. The itinerary will adapt accordingly.

The history of Naples is perfectly legible in its urban structure, which maintains the signs of a city built slowly over a period of 25 centuries: this is the reason why the town is amongst the World Cultural Heritage Sites listed by the UNESCO.

Once in the Old Naples there are plenty of things to visit or to do according to your interests and feelings. You shall certainly enter some of  its beautiful but sometime hidden churches – in Naples like in Rome as many as you like!

You will find great examples of gothic and baroque architecture mixed up with the houses of the ordinary people.

Your private Naples Excursion will bring you to the area called ‘Spaccanapoli’. You will discover the real town: its people, the students, the food (the best pizzerias and pastry shops are there), the craftsmanship. Not to miss is the area of San Gregorio where you have an incredible display of items produced to decorate the Nativity during Christmas Time.

If you like you will  also reach the Cathedral to marvel at the richness of its baroque decoration. In the Cathedral you can visit San Gennaro Chapel, worldwide known not only for art but also because there the Patron Saint of the City liquefies its blood twice a year!!

If you would like to visit the San Severo Chapel please let us know ahead of time in order to obtain a reservation (closed on Tuesdays).

At the end of the tour you can decide to stay on own in town for a traditional pizza lunch or to go back to the beginning.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Giuseppe introduce our university group to the Catacombs of San Gennaro. This rare experience was made even more unique by Giuseppe’s cultural and historical insights.
Giuseppe met us at the cruise terminal at the appointed time and we were driven on a very comfortable bus through the streets of Naples while Giuseppe narrated along the route. The Catacombs are a must see if you only Had have a few hours for Naples. This sacred space is under the care of the local young people from the adjacent neighborhood.
Giuseppe then hand-selected a wonderful beachfront restaurant for lunch which accommodated all the different dietary needs of the group. The pizza was made all the more delicious with Giuseppe’s company and explanation of Naple’s food customs.
I can highly recommend Leisure Italy to provide visitors to Naples a safe, relaxing, interesting, and delicious day! Thanks again to Giuseppe!
